MakoKids co-founder Irmak Atabek, represented us at the lively and creative AVIJOZI Festival in Johannesburg. This festival is a hub where animation, VFX, and digital arts come alive, drawing in some of the brightest minds in the industry. IIrmak’s talk on “AI and the Future of Creativity” delved into how AI is reshaping the way we create and tell stories, emphasizing the balance between embracing cutting-edge technology and staying true to our core values—safety, inclusivity, and joy. She highlighted how AI, when used thoughtfully and ethically, can open up new worlds of creative possibilities, empowering not just artists but also the children who engage with our content.
The AVIJOZI Festival was a whirlwind of ideas and inspiration. Creators, pioneers, and visionaries from all over came together to share experiences and spark new ideas. For MakoKids, being part of this community was an amazing opportunity to showcase what we stand for—creativity, acceptance, and joy—and to engage in conversations that could lead to exciting future collaborations.
Irmak’s presence at AVIJOZI strengthened our belief in the positive potential of AI in the creative world. It reminded us that while technology can do incredible things, it’s the human touch, the ethical approach, and the heart behind it that truly make a difference.
