Mako is a children-first media and production company that specializes in creating quality content for kids of all ages. With a proven track record of working with leading broadcasters and partner organizations worldwide, we believe in the power of storytelling to create a better future for children and to help them reach their full potential. Our diverse team, based in Istanbul/Turkey and with operations in Nairobi/Kenya, is passionate about creating content that is fun, educational, and inclusive. We strive to make a positive impact on children’s lives by promoting diversity, inclusion, and responsibility in all of our content.

At Mako, our mission is to empower children to make a positive difference in the world. We do this by producing high-quality content that combines entertainment with education, innovation, technology, and positive psychology.

Irmak is a multi-disciplinary media and entertainment professional with over 15 years of experience in the animation and children’s media industry. She has a proven track record of developing global children’s IPs and projects, overseeing animation production, and devising effective strategies that deliver results. Irmak is also committed to empowering children to become changemakers, recognizing that the content produced today can have a significant impact on the world of tomorrow. Her leadership has been instrumental in Mako’s expansion into Kenya, where she oversees the company’s preschool projects and collaborates with local creative teams. A lifelong dreamer, Irmak is also determined to set foot on the moon before her 60th birthday.
